The 27-year-old cost his side all three points in Turkey on Wednesday night

Manchester United fans have called on the club to sell Andre Onana in the wake of his poor performance against Galatasaray on Wednesday night.

The Cameroon international made several blunders as the Red Devils squandered the chance to take control of their Champions League destiny.

United went 2-0 up after a quickfire double from Alejandro Garnacho and Bruno Fernandes.

Onana's positioning for a Hakim Ziyech free kick was poor, however, with the former Chelsea star able to level as a result.

United thought they'd done enough to win the game when Scott McTominay struck.

Onana then made another error, however, with a second Ziyech free kick squirming under his body.

His positioning for Galatasaray's third goal was poor, too, with Kerem Akturkoglu expertly netting.

And United fans on X have raged, with many wanting the club to offload Onana just months on from his arrival.

"Sell Onana tomorrow I’ve had enough," said one user.

"Sell onana please," stated a second.

A third said: "United should start working on signing a ball playing GK in the summer window & if good offer comes in for Onana, sell him.

"Guy is very unreliable. Literally cost united Champions League."

A fourth ranted: "If Ten Hag likes his job at Man United, he needs to sell Onana doesn’t matter if he spent a lot to buy him. Get a replacement."

A fifth demanded: "Man Utd needs to sell off Andre Onana. He has cost the club a lot in his debut season. This is another Massimo Taibi..."

And a sixth said: "Sell Onana and get someone else, his price won't drop much anyways.

"Dude has singlehandedly lost the team CL knockout stage money."

United gambled when they signed Onana back in the summer.

They opted to land the Cameroon international as a replacement for club legend David de Gea.

But, just four months on, that decision seems to have backfired.

Meanwhile, United boss Erik ten Hag was asked about Onana's poor showing after the draw with Galatasaray.

Yet the Dutchman refused to blame his goalkeeper for his side's failure to secure all three points.

"He is OK," he said of his shot-stopper.

“It is not about an individual.

"Individual errors in football can make a difference and you take responsibility for it, but it is always about the team.

“We scored quickly after each other. It’s about the point when you are 2-0 up and you have to manage the game.

"It is not so easy when we give free-kicks away and we have to defend the free‑kicks better.

"Hakim is brilliant, I know that, and he is extraordinary.

“It is always about incidents and details and we can do better.

"We have to learn from it because as a team we are conceding too many goals and it is unnecessary and avoidable.

"I am sure our team is experienced and capable enough to manage this and we will do better.”
