Manchester United have unveiled Benjamin Sesko as their latest summer signing and couldn’t resist sneaking in a pointed jab at Newcastle in the process.
The 22-year-old striker arrives from RB Leipzig in a deal worth an initial £66.3million, with add-ons potentially pushing the total higher.
He’s signed a five-year contract, tying him to Old Trafford until 2030, although his squad number will be revealed at a later date.
United had to fend off fierce competition from Newcastle, who matched Leipzig’s asking price amid uncertainty over Alexander Isak’s future.

Despite the Magpies’ efforts, Sesko opted for United following chats with Ruben Amorim.
And the club’s social media team took the opportunity to twist the knife. One announcement post featured just four words: “It was only ever United.”
Speaking after his arrival, Sesko made it clear why he chose Old Trafford.

“The history of Manchester United is obviously very special but what really excites me is the future," said the Slovenian.
"From the moment that I arrived, I could feel the positive energy and family environment that the club has created.
"I cannot wait to start learning from Ruben and connecting with my team-mates to achieve the success that we all know we are capable of together.”

Sesko becomes United’s third permanent signing of the summer, joining Bryan Mbeumo from Brentford and Matheus Cunha from Wolves.
Young wing-back Diego Leon has also officially arrived from Cerro Porteno after turning 18, in a move that was first agreed in January. The quartet were all unveiled prior to their pre-season friendly with Fiorentina at Old Trafford on Saturday.
Amorim is still pushing for more reinforcements before the window closes, however, as he looks to bounce back following last season's shambles.
Brighton midfielder Carlos Baleba has been linked as a top target, with United already in contact with their Premier League rivals.
However, Brighton are reluctant to sell, and both clubs privately admit that a deal is highly unlikely this summer.

United also want a new goalkeeper, with Emiliano Martinez one player on their radar amid uncertainty over his future at Aston Villa.
Jadon Sancho, Alejandro Garnacho and Antony could leave Old Trafford before the transfer window shuts with the trio currently surplus to requirements. Sancho has been linked with Italian titans Juventus, while Garnacho is being eyed by Chelsea as they seek a first Premier League title since 2017.
