Man City 'face being banned from ALL competitions' if found guilty of breaking financial rules

The reigning Premier League champions deny any wrongdoing
Manchester City reportedly face being banned from ALL competitions - not just the Premier League - if they're found guilty of breaking financial rules.
The hearing into the club's 115 alleged breaches of Premier League rules started on Monday, with the reigning champions adamant they'll be able to clear their name.
The Premier League have charged City with a failure to provide accurate financial information, while also alleging they failed to provide accurate details relating to player and manager payments.
City have always denied any wrongdoing, though the trial has been dubbed the 'biggest of the century' when it comes to footballing matters.

It's well-known that, if City are found guilty, they could be relegated.
They may also be docked points, while hefty fines are another potential punishment.
Yet the Telegraph say City could now actually be kicked out of every competition they take part in, in a move that would leave them in limbo.
That may mean them losing their place in the FA Cup, Carabao Cup, Champions League and Club World Cup.
Clause 31 of the FA Cup rules says: "Where a club has been admitted to participate in the competition but is then removed from the league in which it competes (or its league fixtures are suspended), the Professional Game Board [PGB] may remove the club from the competition."
The PGB is formed of representatives from both the Premier League and the English Football League.
EFL Cup rules are similar to the FA Cup, with participating clubs defined as 'each member from time to time of the league and each member from time to time of the Premier League'.
When it comes to the Champions League, things get a little more complex.

Teams need a UEFA club license in order to play in the tournament, with the Premier League, UEFA themselves and the FA all involved in the administration of these licenses.
But they may not be given one as a result of any potential rule-breaking, something that they're confident won't happen.
City are defending their case at an independent inquiry.
While many fans of rival clubs would love to see them found guilty, City boss Pep Guardiola recently reminded the world they were 'innocent until guilt is proven'.
