England captain Leah Williamson has revealed she was left “annoyed” by parts of the Lionesses' game after another comeback win helped them make it to the 2025 Euros final.
Sarina Wiegman’s team looked set to head back to England empty-handed until teenage sensation Michelle Agyemang saved England’s campaign with 90 seconds left in regulation.
Extra-time saw another goal at the death after Chloe Kelly's rebound propelled England to their second successive European final.
Williamson revealed after the match that even though she was “proud” of her side, she was “annoyed that we get ourselves into certain situations.”

“Those girls deserve their flowers, and everybody just played their role. We get ourselves into certain situations with miscommunications or not doing exactly what the plan says, but to bounce back like that, you can’t take anything away from the team or those girls, it is incredible.
“It has not been smooth sailing and I feel like things haven’t necessarily gone to plan,” continued Williamson, before adding that “the level just keeps rising and there are more and more unknowns and you have to be ready for everything”.

The Lionesses will now go on to face either Germany or Spain, which will see a rematch of one of the last two major tournaments.
Should Germany progress, it will be a repeat of the Euros in 2022, which saw England beat Germany 2-1, or a rematch of the 2023 World Cup final, which saw England lose out 1-0 to Spain.
Manager Wiegman was left in shock after the late comeback win.

"We're going to make a movie someday! Well, this is a movie, my goodness, it's unbelievable," Wiegman told the BBC.
The Lionesses have not had an easy road to the final, needing to overcome Sweden on penalties and securing the last-gasp win against Italy, but Williamson is confident that England hit their stride in the final.

“I don’t think it has gone smooth sailing for anybody yet, which is the point," the Arsenal defender claimed.
“It makes a great tournament and it shows what is going on. We just have to keep rising as well, this new England has to find their feet quicker,” said Williamson.
