A former Manchester City star has been arrested in connection to tax fraud.
Dutch authorities detained former City winger Kiki Musampa on Tuesday in connection with an alleged tax fraud scheme worth £100,000.
The 48-year-old football coach was taken into custody as investigators conducted a search of his residence.
Officers from the Netherlands' Fiscal Information and Investigation Service confiscated various documents and high-end timepieces during the operation at Musampa's home. The Zaire-born former player was held overnight before being freed on Wednesday afternoon.

Currently serving as assistant manager for Ajax's reserve team Jong Ajax, Musampa faces accusations of improperly claiming tax residency outside the Netherlands whilst maintaining employment and generating earnings within the country.
A 65-year-old accountant linked to the case was also detained by authorities during the investigation.

Musampa enjoyed a successful playing career that spanned across six nations, including memorable spells in England and the Netherlands.
The left-sided player arrived at Manchester City in 2004 on an 18-month loan arrangement from Atletico Madrid.
During his time at City, the player known as Chris featured in 41 matches and found the net against Liverpool, Aston Villa and Middlesbrough. His departure in 2006 saw him join Turkish outfit Trabzonspor.

The attacking midfielder's most successful period came earlier at Ajax, where he claimed Champions League glory and secured two Eredivisie championships.
Musampa represented the Netherlands at youth level, earning 43 caps for various age groups.
His playing days concluded in 2009 at Dutch side Willem II, following stints with clubs in France, Turkey and South Korea.

The Dutch tax authority alleges Musampa falsely registered his tax domicile in another country whilst actively employed and receiving income in the Netherlands.
Officials estimate the scheme deprived the state of more than £100,000 in unpaid taxes.
Recent reports from Dutch media suggest the former footballer has faced ongoing financial difficulties related to tax obligations.
These troubles reportedly culminated in the seizure of an Amsterdam property he owned.

Ajax acknowledged awareness of their assistant coach's detention but declined to provide detailed commentary.
A club representative stated: "We are aware of Kiki Musampa's arrest, but we think it is too early to react to it in detail."
The investigation remains active as authorities examine the seized materials and assess the full extent of the alleged fraud.
