The 54-year-old could yet lose his job despite his side's 2-1 win over Manchester City

Erik ten Hag wants his Manchester United future resolved as quickly as possible following the club's FA Cup triumph, it has been claimed.

The Dutchman oversaw his side's 2-1 win over Manchester City on Saturday, with goals from Alejandro Garnacho and Kobbie Mainoo securing the prize.

But, despite winning his second trophy as United manager, Ten Hag's future is shrouded in uncertainty.

Kieran McKenna, Mauricio Pochettino, Thomas Frank and Thomas Tuchel are all candidates to take over if Ten Hag is relieved of his duties.

And Sky Sports say the 54-year-old wants a swift resolution to the matter.

Ten Hag believes he's done a 'good job in extremely difficult circumstances', despite United recently finishing eighth in the Premier League table.

The Red Devils entered the campaign with a takeover going on behind the scenes, with Sir Jim Ratcliffe then acquiring a minority stake in the club.

And United have also had to contend with plenty of injury issues this season, too.

Big stars such as Lisandro Martinez, Harry Maguire and Luke Shaw have all been sidelined at various stages of the campaign.

But despite United also having to cope without the likes of Mason Mount, Raphael Varane and Anthony Martial at various stages, they've still ended their season on a positive note.

Ten Hag wants to be 'working and winning trophies' at United next season.

If he's axed, however, he's ready to take his skill set to a different club instead.

Ten Hag said as much after the cup final on Saturday, with the United boss vowing to win more silverware in the future - whether that's with the club or not.

“Two trophies in two seasons and three finals… not bad," he said.

“If they don’t want me anymore, I’ll go somewhere else and win trophies.

"That’s what I do."

He continued: "I am here to win and I want to build a team.

"My whole managerial career I have won games and trophies.

"You see in the last decade, there were not many finals, many trophies, not many young players coming through the first team with high potential.

"I don't know this [about INEOS talking to other managers without his knowledge]. I can't answer this question.

"Maybe you have sources, I don't have them."

City boss Pep Guardiola, meanwhile, says United have to make a decision on Ten Hag - while also praising the Dutchman for the work he's done with the club.

"They have to take a decision," Guardiola said after the match.

"He's a lovely person and an extraordinary manager. Winning the FA Cup is important for them like last season it was for us."

If Ten Hag does leave United, he'll be the latest big-name manager to be axed by the club.

David Moyes, Louis van Gaal, Jose Mourinho and Ole Gunnar Solskjaer have all been hired and fired ever since Sir Alex Ferguson's retirement in 2013.

But Ten Hag, with two trophies in as many years, feels he's done enough to avoid a similar fate to those men.
