England boss Lee Carsley makes 'wrong signal' admission ahead of Finland showdown - 'We have to make sure'

England host Finland on Tuesday at Wembley in the Nations League
England interim coach Lee Carsley has insisted he will not be making wholesale changes to his starting XI to face Finland on Tuesday evening.
The Three Lions swatted aside the Republic of Ireland with relative ease as Declan Rice and Jack Grealish returned to Dublin to haunt the old country they used to play for.
It gave Carsley the perfect start to his reign as interim coach as he looks to convince the FA over a permanent slot as England manager.
And he will have another chance to audition on Tuesday night in the Nations League when England host Finland in a match they are expected to win convincingly.

There had been a suggestion that Carsley could shuffle around his squad and give some fringe players starting minutes amid a season with more games than ever.
But the 50-year-old has insisted he will keep things largely the same as he does not want to disrespect his opponents.
"That is the balance," he said in his pre-match press conference on Monday afternoon.
"If you make 11 changes it maybe sends out the wrong signal. The good thing about this group is they are highly motivated to do well.
"There will be two or three changes, but not wholesale changes.

"We have to make sure we protect the players as well."
Carsley made some brave choices after naming his first England squad with four uncapped stars called up - Morgan Gibbs-White, Angel Gomes, Tino Livramento and Noni Madueke.
The former duo made their debuts for the Three Lions while the latter two had to stay on the bench but there is every chance they will be involved at Wembley.

Having been relegated to the B league in the Nations League, England are expected to coast to victory in their group - which includes Greece as well as Republic of Ireland and Finland.
Meanwhile, Kane has admitted he is immensely proud as he looks set to make his 100th appearance for the Three Lions.

"It is really special," the England captain said.
"I always say it is sometimes hard to sink in when you are playing. I spoke previously about that with the goalscoring record, but this one I am extremely proud of.
"It is something I am really excited for, my family will be there to enjoy the moment as well and it is a moment I am sure when I am retired I will look back on."
