Players visited the White House after their win at the Club World Cup

Donald Trump posed an uncomfortable question to Juventus players during their White House visit, asking whether women could make the men's team.

The exchange occurred after the Italian club's 5-0 Club World Cup victory over Al-Ain on Wednesday night.

Trump, who signed an executive order in February banning transgender participants from women's sports, turned to US international Weston McKennie and asked: "Could a woman make your team, fellas?"

The query left the Juventus squad, lined up behind the president, standing in awkward silence.

The players, including McKennie and fellow American Timothy Weah, appeared visibly uncomfortable as they awaited someone to respond.

Eventually, Juventus midfielder Manuel Locatelli broke the silence by answering "yes" to Trump's question.

The president immediately dismissed this response, claiming Locatelli was "being nice" with his reply.

Trump then directed the same question to Juventus's general manager, Damien Comolli, who offered a diplomatic response: "We have a very good women's team."

The president was quick to counter, stating: "But they should be playing with women."

He then added that Comolli was "being very diplomatic" with his answer.
