Arsenal missed out on the Premier League title after pushing Manchester City all the way to the final day of the season.

Mikel Arteta has promised Arsenal fans that the club will be back to challenge Manchester City for the title last season after pushing Pep Guardiola's side all the way this year.

City have dominated the Premier League over the last seven years with Liverpool the only club to have knocked them briefly off their perch.

Jurgen Klopp's side looked as though they would be challenging once again this year in a three-horse race, but their challenge collapsed as City continued winning.

However, Arsenal managed to keep touch with City the whole way as they dropped just four points in 2024.

It still wasn't enough as City got the job done on the final day of the season despite Arsenal getting the win over Everton.

There was a party atmosphere inside the Emirates at the final whistle despite missing out on the title.

And Arteta delivered an emotional speech on the pitch to the club's fans urging them to continue their support.

"All this is happening because you started believing, you started to be patient and started to understand what we tried to do," he said.

"All the credit has to go to the players and the staff.

"Now it's time to have a break, think and reflect.

"Please, keep pushing and inspiring this team.

"Don't be satisfied. We want much more than that and we’re going to get it."
