AngryGinge and two others were arrested after a vintage racing car suffered several thousands of pounds worth of damage

Northamptonshire Police have confirmed that three men were arrested at Silverstone Circuit during the British Grand Prix weekend following reports of criminal damage to a classic Formula 1 display car.

The incident occurred on Friday when a vintage racing car sustained several thousands of pounds worth of damage after someone allegedly accessed the display stand and climbed into the vehicle.

Among those arrested was 23-year-old YouTuber Morgan Burtwistle, known online as AngryGinge, alongside fellow streamers Charlie Clark (Chazza) and Samuel Imie (SamHam).

Police said the three men, aged 23, 25 and 27, were taken into custody on suspicion of causing criminal damage to a vehicle.

The Salford-born content creator has strongly denied any wrongdoing, claiming the group had merely sat inside the vehicle.

Speaking on a livestream following his release, Burtwistle said: "For sitting in a car, they got us, you don't do that at F1.

"They locked us up for watching somebody else sitting in a car - they locked SamHam up for watching somebody else sit in a car."

He added: "They locked Chazza up for sitting in a car, criminal damage, they tried to say. 30 grand, they tried to say..."

The streamer revealed he spent 15 hours in what he described as a "concrete block" before being released without charge.

The trio were escorted from Silverstone to Northampton Criminal Justice Centre, approximately 17 miles from the circuit, for questioning.

According to the streamers' accounts, they were not taken away in handcuffs but were detained overnight following their arrest.

Burtwistle described being offered pot noodles whilst in custody and attempting to sleep despite disturbances from a neighbouring cell.

"10 o'clock in the morning, I'm thinking it is, and the door opens, I'm thinking it might be interview time," he recounted.

Fellow streamer Syndicate has claimed that AngryGinge has been banned from attending Silverstone, though this remains unconfirmed.

The incident occurred during the British Grand Prix weekend, which saw Lando Norris claim his first victory at the event.
