The 17-year-old beat Gerwyn Price and now sits top of the standings

Luke Littler took a while to get going in the Premier League. Now, however, the 17-year-old has undeniably arrived.

The teenager went into Thursday night's event in Manchester hoping for a second consecutive triumph, having won in Belfast last week.

And Littler was brilliant as he secured victory, with the youngster overcoming Michael van Gerwen, Nathan Aspinall and Gerwyn Price on his way to glory.

Despite his young age, he's very much the man to beat.

It was Van Gerwen who dominated the early stages of the competition, with the Dutchman winning three nights in a row.

Then it was Luke Humphries, with the 29-year-old also winning three consecutive evenings.

But now it is the turn of Littler, with the 17-year-old showing why he's considered the best young player on the planet with some sublime displays at the oche.

While he wasn't as good as he was in Northern Ireland seven days previously, he was still superior to each and every one of his rivals.

Van Gerwen, Aspinall and Price were unable to cope with his brilliance and, as the pressure rose, Littler just seemed to get better.

Given everything he's achieved, and achieving, you could forgive Littler for getting carried away.

But that's something the youngster won't be doing.

Speaking to Sportsboom, the teenager showed how grounded he is by saying he's a darts player - and not a celebrity.

Prior to his win, Littler has been spending time with some celebrities.

He met the Sidemen, the group of YouTubers who have dominated that industry, while also appearing on The Happy Hour podcast.

Littler insists, however, that those activities are a help - and not a hindrance - as he looks to dominate the Premier League.

"To meet the Sidemen, it was just a dream come true," he admitted.

"It's just what I do. It actually settles me down when I've got a day off."

Littler also says he's just glad to be living his dream, too.

"I'm grateful for all these opportunities, whether it's a podcast or getting to visit a new place," he admitted.

"It may help the sport, it may not, I'm just thankful I can live my dream."

Now, Littler has a new challenge ahead.

The darts star has flourished while being seen as the underdog, especially given how Van Gerwen and Humphries initially dominated proceedings.

With the prodigy top of the table, however, the hunt will begin.

Meanwhile, speaking to Sky Sports, Littler says he's grown in confidence and has 'settled into' the Premier League.
