Could Tyson Fury and Oleksandr Usyk meet for a third time?

Oleksandr Usyk delivered a devastating performance at Wembley Stadium on Saturday night, stopping Daniel Dubois in the fifth round before a crowd exceeding 90,000 spectators.

The Ukrainian fighter dominated from the opening bell, taking control of the ring's centre and landing accurate shots whilst his British opponent struggled to connect.

Dubois hit the canvas in round five but rose to continue. However, a crushing left-hand counter from Usyk ended the contest moments later, with the referee halting proceedings as Dubois failed to recover.

The 38-year-old Ukrainian claimed the undisputed heavyweight championship for a second time within approximately twelve months.

Tyson Fury was notably absent from the ringside spectacle, choosing instead to go for a late-night run in Morecambe.

The former champion posted a video on Instagram during his jog, offering his thoughts on the bout.

"Massive shout out to Oleksandr Usyk. A fantastic performance tonight over Daniel Dubois, a good young game lad who came for a tear up. Congratulations to both men," Fury stated in the video.

However, he quickly pivoted to his own grievances, declaring: "Oleksandr knows there's only one man who can beat him.

"I've done it twice before and the world knows it."

The Morecambe-based fighter has revealed plans for a third encounter with Usyk, posting on Instagram about a bout scheduled for 18 April 2026 at Wembley Stadium.

Fury shared a promotional poster depicting both fighters, with the caption: "April 18, 2026 Wembley Stadium. The trilogy! UK. contact @spencerbrownmrgoldstar for tickets."

The announcement comes despite Fury having previously declared his retirement following consecutive defeats to the Ukrainian in 2024.

Their initial encounter in May resulted in a split-decision loss for Fury, followed by another points defeat seven months later.

Following his victory, Usyk expressed uncertainty about his future plans, stating he wanted rest and time with his family.

When questioned about potential opponents, the champion mentioned several names: "Maybe Tyson Fury. Maybe Derek Chisora. Maybe Anthony Joshua. Maybe Joseph Parker."

Fury remains adamant about the outcomes of their previous encounters, insisting in his video: "I am the f****** Spartan.

"No matter what anybody wants to say, I won those fights. Guaranteed 100%."

The 36-year-old described his December defeat as "a clear f****** victory for The Gypsy King", demanding fair officiating for any future bout.
