Zara and Mike Tindall have ruled out leaving the UK on a permanent basis, despite spending two months away from their family home this summer.

The couple, who tied the knot in 2011 after dating for eight years, have frequented the Oceania country several times.

In 2003, Zara and Mike met in a bar in Sydney during the Rugby World Cup and constantly remind royal fans about their love of Oz.

They jetted out to the Gold Coast in January earlier this year for the Magic Millions racing event, and returned to Australia in July to cheer on the British and Irish Lions.

Sharing a picture before one of the games began, the royal couple were seen against the backdrop of the Melbourne Cricket Ground.

Just two days ago, Mike, 46, revealed he and Zara are still in Australia, sharing a clip on Instagram with the caption: "Wowsers!!!! Let’s go the Wallabies!!!

"Not sure anyone saw that coming but with the lions series under their belts they looked to have more in their legs in the second half!! Could be fiery next week!!! #trc #wallabies #rugby who will win next week??"

Zara and Mike have stayed in Australia since the beginning of July, prompting speculation that they may have a permanent base in the country.

However, GB News understands that the Tindalls do not have a permanent base in Australia and have no imminent plans to move abroad.

Speaking to Australian Women's Weekly in 2019, Zara suggested that relocating to Australia one day could be on the cards.

"Probably not while I'm still competing. It would be a little bit hard commuting. But after that, yes, I think if an opportunity came up, we'd definitely think about it," she said.

Mike added: "It's not a rushed lifestyle. I think it's a great place and we enjoy it so much."

MAGIC MILLIONS

Last month, Zara and Mike ventured out onto the Great Barrier Reef Marine Park for the first time, despite having visited Australia on numerous occasions.

Mike wrote on Instagram: "We had the chance to spend a few days on Hamilton Island this week - despite all the times we have been to Australia, we have never been here before and it's been amazing."

He described their reef experience as "unreal", noting that "Queensland definitely has it all."

"It's our first time being out on the water in the Great Barrier Reef Marine Park too and it really was unreal," he posted.

The former rugby player reflected on their Queensland holiday, concluding: "Made some incredible memories. What an unforgettable way to spend some downtime."
