The royal couple were part of the distinguished gathering that included Prince William and Kate, who made a glamorous entrance.

The Princess of Wales wore a striking white Self Portrait dress that gave the appearance of a blazer and skirt despite being one piece.

Thousands of members of the public were given the opportunity to join the audience for the special concert.

The concert, presented by Zoe Ball, featured performances echoing the historic celebrations of VE Day 80 years ago.

Opening the event, Fleur East took to the stage with a wonderful rendition of 'I've Got Rhythm'.

The special concert included music from the era alongside stories of veterans from World War Two.

King Charles and Queen Camilla attended as part of the conclusion to the national VE Day commemorations.

The royal children - Prince George, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis - were notably absent from the evening's festivities.

This was due to it being a school night for the young royals, aged 11, 10 and seven respectively.

The Duke and Duchess of Edinburgh have been steadfast supporters of the royal family throughout the VE Day celebrations.

Their presence at tonight's concert demonstrated the united front of senior royals at this significant commemorative event.

Sophie and Edward were seen enjoying the performances that paid tribute to the historic victory celebrations eight decades ago.

The couple's attendance comes as part of their increasingly prominent role within the working royal family.

The concert provided a fitting conclusion to the national commemorations marking 80 years since Victory in Europe Day.

Earlier in the day, the Duke and Duchess of Edinburgh attended a Thanksgiving Service at Westminster Abbey alongside other senior royals.

They were joined by the Prince and Princess of Wales, Princess Anne, the Duke and Duchess of Gloucester, and the Duke of Kent.

This service formed part of the day's commemorative events before the evening concert.
