Sarah Ferguson is understood to have previously coveted Forest Lodge, set to become the “forever home” of Princess Kate, Prince William and their children later this year.

In 1998, Fergie had her heart set on the 300-year-old Georgian manor house.

However, Fergie's quest was soon scuppered by the veto of Prince Philip, as reported by the Mail.
In 2008, she began cohabiting with her ex-husband at the nearby Royal Lodge and has remained there ever since.
Representatives of Sarah Ferguson declined to comment when approached by GB News.
Over the years, Forest Lodge has had several high-profile tenants.

As a grace-and-favour property, it had been home to equerries and private secretaries of several monarchs and royals.
In the 1990s, Princess Margaret’s private secretary, Lord Napier, called Forest Lodge home.
The manor’s most recent tenants were Alex Fitzgibbons and his wife, Swedish-American investor Cristina Stenbeck.
Mr Fitzgibbons, as chairman of a luxury event-planning firm, Fait Accompli, oversaw the Buckingham Palace wedding after-party for William and Kate in 2011.

He also masterminded similar bashes for Meghan Markle and Prince Harry at Frogmore Cottage in 2018 and Pippa Middleton's wedding reception the previous year.

Now valued at approximately £16million, the palatial property underwent a lavish £1.5million restoration in 2001.
William and Kate are renovating further, with a planning application lodged in June revealing that both internal and external work is already underway.

The Prince and Princess are understood to be funding the move and renting out of their own pocket at no extra cost to the taxpayer, as reported by The Sun.
They will also maintain their preference for having no live-in staff.
The move has come with some fallout, as two neighbouring families are believed to have been "told to move out" ahead of the Waleses' arrival.
