The young royal is third in line to the throne

Princess Charlotte is benefitting from the scrapping of 'old rules' within the Royal Family, according to a royal commentator.

The young royal, who turned 10 just days earlier on May 2, stood with calm confidence during during Monday's VE Day celebrations at Buckingham Palace.

Her poised demeanour drew attention as she joined other members of the Royal Family for the significant commemoration.

"It's truly her personality it's not forced," says designer Amaia Arrieta, who has met Charlotte several times.

"She looks very confident and at ease with herself and the environment she's in. The maturity that comes with that responsibility—she seems to nail it every time."

This natural confidence has become a hallmark of the young royal's public appearances.

The young royal's upbringing has marked a departure from some royal traditions.

Unlike previous generations, she attends coed Lambrook prep school in Berkshire alongside her brothers, rather than an all-girls boarding school.

"The monarchy has caught up with modern times, and instead of insisting on all-girl [or all-boy] schools, they want them to integrate as much as possible," says Seward.

"The old rules of royalty have changed," Seward adds.

At Lambrook, sports and creativity are central to Charlotte's education.

The princess excels in various athletic pursuits, including football, ballet, tap and rugby.

On the football pitch, she's known for her grace and sportsmanship, often congratulating opposing team players.

"At weekends we go from one competition to the next," Prince William said in March.

"She's clearly sporty like her mother. A bit of a mini-me," adds a palace insider.
