The Princess of Wales's sudden absence stemmed from an administrative error rather than any health-related issue

The Royal Family has put on a striking show of unity behind King Charles as they attended the third day of Royal Ascot amid the absence of the Prince and Princess of Wales.

Queen Camilla, Princess Anne, the Duke and Duchess of Edinburgh, Zara and Mike Tindall, Princess Beatrice and Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi joined the monarch at the prestigious event.

The royals arrived for another day of races in the glorious sunshine in the traditional Royal Procession of carriages.

The procession was led by King Charles and Queen Camilla, who rode in the first carriage with the Marquess and Marchioness of Salisbury.

Prince Edward, the Duke of Edinburgh, and his wife Sophie, the Duchess of Edinburgh, rode in the second carriage alongside Prince Anne, Princess Royal, and her husband, Vice Admiral Sir Tim Laurence.

Princess Beatrice and Edoardo rode with Princess Zahra Aga Khan, eldest child of the late Aga Khan IV, and British horse trainer William Haggas.

Riding behind Beatrice and Edoardo were Zara and Mike.

The Princess of Wales remained absent from the proceedings after she pulled out of appearing on Wednesday.

The King wore a classic Ascot morning suit and top hat while Camilla appeared beside him in a grey dress.

Princess Anne wore cobalt blue ensemble with a veiled hat and pearls.

Meanwhile, the Duchess of Edinburgh wore a gleaming white dress with a green floral pattern.

The occasion was a particularly special one Prince Edward and Duchess Sophie as it coincided with their 26th wedding.

Zara stepped out with a classy black and white old Hollywood ensemble, accessorised with a wide-brimmed hat.

However, Princess Beatrice made the boldest statement of the day with a £3,350 long sleeve day dress from Monique Lhuillier.

Her dress was in a fitting striking summer yellow with a deep blue and white floral pattern.

The Princess of York completed her look with carefully chosen accessories, including a white fascinator and matching leather clutch that subtly coordinated with the pattern on her dress.

She paired the ensemble with nude pumps and kept her makeup elegantly simple, opting for shimmery eyeshadow and pink lipstick to complement the bold outfit.

Princess Kate's sudden withdrawal from the Royal Procession on the second day of Ascot has been revealed to have resulted from an administrative error rather than any health-related issue, sources close to the Royal Family have confirmed.

The Princess of Wales's unexpected absence from Royal Ascot yesterday raised eyebrows after she withdrew from the event seemingly moments before she was due to appear.
