Queen Mary of Denmark has interrupted her summer holiday abroad to share a personal message through her Mary Foundation.
The 53-year-old Queen, who is currently on vacation with King Frederik whilst Queen Margrethe serves as regent, released the message through the foundation's Instagram account.
The Danish royal urged people to support marginalised communities during the summer break.
In her message, Queen Mary painted a vivid image of the season: "Summer can do something really special. Kids splashing in the cities' pools and at the local beach.

"Bright, long evenings with the family. And the sound of happy students driving through the streets," she continued.
Mary added: "The summer reminds me seriously of the importance of community. How lovely and rewarding communities can be, but also how difficult it can be for those standing outside the community."
The Queen urged her followers to reach out to those in marginalised communities, adding: "With the summer holidays, fewer formalised communities follow.
"School, recreational activities and clubs are typically closed. It takes more of all of us to reach out and invite others into community," she said.

Mary continued: "But I believe that community and sense of belonging arises when we see each other and make room for diversity in tolerant and diverse communities. I hope that summer brings presence, joy, and a sense of belonging.
"Have a great summer from us at Mary Foundation," the Danish Queen signed off, signings the post: "H.M. Dronningen."
The Mary Foundation, which the Queen established in 2007 to improve the lives of vulnerable women and children, shared a photograph of Mary wearing a blue shirt and glasses whilst seated at her desk.
Mary and King Frederik are currently enjoying a break from their official duties, with the 85-year-old Queen Margrethe stepping in as regent during their absence.

Frederik was spotted at the Wimbledon tennis tournament in London last week, though the location of the rest of the family's holiday remains unknown.
Before returning from their holiday, the Danish royals have several engagements planned for the remainder of the summer.
The couple will take up residence at their summer home, Gråsten Palace, on July 28.
In August, King Frederik and Queen Mary will embark on a four-day cruise around Danish municipalities aboard the Royal Ship Dannebrog.

Prior to her summer break, the Queen made her last public appearance alongside her husband at an event in Aarhus marking Denmark's takeover of the EU presidency.
For the occasion, Queen Mary wore a striking red Max Mara jumpsuit, a subtle nod to the Danish national flag.
Also fast approaching in the Danish royal family’s calendar is the couple’s eldest son, Crown Prince Christian, is preparing for the next stage of his career.
The 19-year-old, who completed the gruelling training to become a Guards Hussar in the Danish Army, is set to begin his Lieutenant's training in August.
