Prince Harry has slammed several members of the Royal Family throughout his autobiography Spare

Queen Elizabeth II would have suffered watching Prince Harry discussing Royal Family fallouts publicly, a former royal butler has told GB News.

Grant Harrold, who previously worked for Charles and Camilla, highlighted the Queen’s "never complain, never explain" mantra and the strong family values she held.

He said: “I was very close to William and Harry as I was to the father and I found this very sad because they were a very close family.

“Some of the things he's saying are shocking. There are some things that you just don't bring up, and I don't quite understand what's going on. I don't know what he's trying to get across.

“They're obviously upset. They want to get their views, their truths across and that'swhat'sreally difficult and for me, listening to this, knowing how close they were.

It'svery sad and I hate to say it but I am glad that the Queen's not around to hear and see all this because I think it would have really hurt her because she was certainly all about family.

“She had that mantra of never complain and never explain and just getting on with the duty of being a royal. But that's not what's happening because we're discussing this family fallout.”

The former royal butler continued: “I think the King would be really upset about these comments, even devastated.

“From my point of view, without breaking confidences - I was there for several years and certainly around the time of the wedding.

“I was lucky enough to be a guest and I was around just before the wedding and obviously after and I was unaware of any of these feelings.

“It's possible they had these feelings or discussions but I was never aware of anything.”

Harrold also shared his views on Prince Harry's motivation for providing the public with personal details of the Royal Family's fallouts.

Harrold added: “Money is always the reason why this is happening.

“I get that he wanted to step away from the Royal Family. I get he wants to do his own thing. I even get that maybe they want to work in the media.

So none of that's that unusual, but it is a very different thing when you're selling stories to make money on telling stories about your own family.

“That's where it becomes very dangerous, really dangerous.”
