The Queen has become the latest member of the Royal Family to launch a podcast

Queen Camilla is set to launch a new podcast after Meghan Markle's Spotify deal collapsed earlier this year.

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex's reported £15.5million deal with Spotify fell through in June 2023.

In a joint statement, Archewell Audio and Spotify said they had “mutually agreed to part ways” and were “proud of the series we made together”.

This comes as the Queen, 76, is the next member of the Royal Family to release her own audio platform.

Queen Camilla's audio platform will be titled the "Reading Room", to highlight her book club which has existed since 2021.

Her book club aims to develop an appreciation of literature among adults and children in the UK and across the world.

The weekly podcast series, which Camilla will co-host alongside the charity's CEO Vicki Perrin, will feature guests like Sir Ian Rankin and Dame Joanna Lumley.

In a trailer for the upcoming podcast, Camilla looked glamorous in a navy blue frock and stunning gold jewellery.

The Reading Room Festival will return to Hampton Court Palace on Saturday, June 8, 2024.

The literary festival will be the second of its kind, following its debut earlier this year in June. The event saw theatrical performances from Dame Judi Dench, Ken Follett, Peter James and Kate Mosse.

Queen Camilla's Reading Room charity started as a lockdown book club on Instagram to share Her Majesty's love of reading.

Officially opening in January 2021, it has now become an international charity and literary hub.

The Instagram page has gathered more than 167,000 followers since its launch.

Available weekly from Monday, January 8 2024, the Queen's Reading Room Podcast will enable book lovers to hear from their favourite authors.

Each week, various authors and actors will invite listeners to their reading rooms, whether that's a bedside book stack or a library, to share their favourite titles.

The first series of the podcast features Sir Ian Rankin, Dame Joanna Lumley, David Baddiel and Ann Patchett.
