Queen Camilla has given an update on King Charles's health during tonight's outing.

The Queen attended a Musical Evening at Salisbury Cathedral to celebrate the work of local charities tonight.

These included The Wiltshire Bobby Van Trust, The Wiltshire Air Ambulance, and Community First – Youth Action Wiltshire, as well as the regimental charities of The Grenadier Guards and The Rifles.

During the event, Camilla was asked about the King's health, to which she said: "He is doing extremely well under the circumstances.

"We are very touched by all of the letters and messages."

Tonight's event saw award-winning concert pianist Rupert Egerton-Smith perform alongside The Band of The Grenadier Guards and The Band and Bugles of The Rifles.

Earlier this week, it was announced that King Charles, 75, had been diagnosed with a form of cancer.

Tonight marked Camilla's first engagement since the King's cancer diagnosis was made known earlier this week.

The King was in London because he was being treated as an outpatient at an undisclosed hospital.

On Monday, Buckingham Palace released the following statement: "During The King’s recent hospital procedure for benign prostate enlargement, a separate issue of concern was noted.

"Subsequent diagnostic tests have identified a form of cancer.

"His Majesty has today commenced a schedule of regular treatments, during which time he has been advised by doctors to postpone public-facing duties.

"Throughout this period, His Majesty will continue to undertake State business and official paperwork as usual.

"The King is grateful to his medical team for their swift intervention, which was made possible thanks to his recent hospital procedure. He remains wholly positive about his treatment and looks forward to returning to full public duty as soon as possible.

"His Majesty has chosen to share his diagnosis to prevent speculation and in the hope it may assist public understanding for all those around the world who are affected by cancer."
