Queen Camilla met Burke when she was known as Milla Shand.

Camilla, aged 17, was reportedly the life and soul of the party.

Despite the short-lived romance, Burke spoke positively about Camilla following their relationship.

He shared tales of their revelling in Jessica Jayne’s biography The Duchess of Cornwall: Camilla’s Story and Secrets.

Burke said: "Every night we had two or three cocktail parties to go to and a dance and a couple of dances to choose from at weekends in the country.

"Camilla was immensely popular and although she wasn't a beauty, she was attractive and sexy."

The popular teenage heartthrob left Burke after around a year.

He added: "I remained with Camilla all that year.

"I suppose we were in love and then she ditched me. Why? Well, the short answer is that she was having a ball in London."

Bachelor Burke settled down at the age of 42 after becoming a chartered accountant.

The Daily Mail revealed Burke’s first marriage to advertising executive Peta Baker lasted 14 years and ended in 2001.

He later married former head-hunter Luisa Fairey and became a father for the first time at the age of 58.
