The staggering cost of Princess Lilibet’s birthday trip to Disneyland that saw her, Meghan Markle, Prince Harry and Prince Archie, be given VIP treatment at the Califronia amusement park has been revealed.

The Duchess of Sussex shared the experience with her 3.6 million Instagram followers, posting a reel that showed the family of four enjoying various attractions and meeting Disney characters.

“Thank you @disneyland for giving our family two days of pure joy!” Meghan wrote on alongside the post.

However, it may well have been Disney thanking her as it appears the special two-day trip may have cost Meghan and Harry a significant sum.

Reservations for the VIP experience the Sussexes embarked on can cost anywhere between £3,000 to over £5,000, Hello! Magazine reported.

The hefty price tag did seem to buy the young family a plush time.

An insider explained that families receive personalised attention throughout their visit, with tour guides able to "bring snacks to them" and "escort them anywhere they want to go".

“Celebrity guests are typically driven around by a personal tour guide backstage so they don't have to go through the crowds in the park and (they get to) use cast member entrances backstage to enter the rides," the source revealed.

The source indicated that a photograph showing the family on a balcony was taken at Walt Disney's apartment above the Pirates of the Caribbean ride, which they were able to tour privately.

"They probably had lunch either in Walt's apartment or in Club 33, which is a very exclusive Disney club," Hello! was told.

The exact total cost of the Sussex family's birthday celebration has not been offically disclosed.

The Instagram footage revealed numerous family moments.

Throughout the footage, Meghan maintained the family's privacy by obscuring the children's faces or covering them with hearts.

The children had the opportunity to meet Disney characters, with one sweet clip showing Princess Lilibet leading her mother by the hand to meet Queen Elsa from Frozen.

Her birthday celebrations included theme park treats such as corn dogs and pickles.

Lilibet also received a huge custom Little Mermaid-themed birthday cake decorated with blue icing and "Happy Birthday Lili" written in pink.

Throughout the various clips and images, Meghan wore a black baseball cap featuring Minnie Mouse ears while Harry opted for a similar hat, bearing Mickey Mouse ears, in one photo.

Lilibet and Archie could also be seen wearing similar caps in another pic.

In one image, Harry was seen sitting beside his daughter on another attraction, flashing a cheerful smile.
