Royal fans were quick to spot a key detail in Princess Charlotte and Prince William’s unprecedented joint statement.
The message was shared to congratulate England’s Lionesses for their victory over Spain in a tense Euros final.
The royal father and daughter duo were present in the St Jakob-Park Stadium to watch England triumph in a tense penalty shootout contest.
"What a game! @lionesses, you are the champions of Europe and we couldn’t be prouder of the whole team. Enjoy this moment @England," William and Charlotte said.

In a royal first, the congratulations were signed off: "W & Charlotte."
The use of an initial or name at the end of a royal message usually indicates it has come directly from them, the "W" in this case standing for William.
Charlotte has followed this procedure on previous occasions, adding a "C" to her Father’s Day and birthday messages to William alongside her mother and siblings.
In this instance, the 10-year-old princess used for full name to sign off the congratulations.

This decision is likely to have been taken by Kensington Palace to provide clarity on who exactly was sending the message.
Charlotte shares the same initial as Princess Kate, who uses a "C" to represent her formal name of Catherine.
This was seen in the Waleses birthday message to William, which was signed off with "C (Catherine/Kate), G (George), C (Charlotte), L (Louis)".
Kensington Palace was likely keen to make clear that congratulations were coming directly from the royals present at the game, William and Charlotte.

The game was certainly not easy going for the Lionesses, with Spain opening the scoring following a 25th minute strike from Mariona Caldentey.
However, a stunning header from Alessia Russo, assisted by Chloe Kelly, in the 57th minute revived the Lionesses fortunes.
Charlotte and William watched on as the game remained deadlocked at 1-1 through normal and extra time, leading to the fateful penalty shootout.
