Investitures mainly take place at Windsor Castle

Prince William has "annoyed" Princess Anne, according to a source, over the future king's work schedule.

King Charles, the Princess Royal and the Prince of Wales are the three members of the Royal Family who carry out investitures.

Several sources close to Princess Anne, 74, claimed she would like to see William do more of the “bread-and-butter” royal engagements.

The investitures mainly take place at Windsor Castle, which is near the Prince and Princess of Wales's home, Adelaide Cottage.

William and Kate, both 43, moved to the four-bedroom cottage in 2022 with their children, Prince George, 11, Princess Charlotte, 10, and Prince Louis, seven.

A source close to Princess Anne told the Times: “She’s still doing most of the investitures [at Windsor] even though William lives there. It annoys her.”

In contrast, the King's younger sister lives on the Gatcombe Park Estate in Gloucestershire, an hour and a half's drive from Windsor Castle.

GB News has contacted Princess Anne's representatives and Kensington Palace for comment.

Despite claims of "annoyance", Prince William is known to admire his aunt’s devotion to duty.

In addition, Princess Anne is fond of her nephew and hopes to be able to support him as King in the future.

After last year's horse accident, which left the 74-year-old concussed, Anne returned to work three weeks afterwards, sporting a black eye.

This prompted a rare personal message on social media from the Prince and Princess of Wales, acknowledging her work ethic: “Super trooper! So great to see you back so soon. W&C x.”

The Princess Royal is the hardest-working member of the Royal Family, regularly topping the list each year.

In 2024, for example, Anne carried out 474 royal engagements, despite being hospitalised in June with a concussion.

King Charles, 76, came in second place to his younger sister with just 372 engagements.

The monarch was diagnosed with an unspecified form of cancer in 2024, but still carried outa huge number of royal duties.
