The initiative brings together numerous partners, including the Central Dartmoor Landscape Recovery Project, to develop innovative approaches to land management.

The collaboration proposes new methods for grazing practices, biodiversity conservation and hydrological restoration across the Duchy's Dartmoor estate.

The strategy addresses evolving environmental challenges whilst balancing the needs of local communities and ecosystems.

The vision establishes guiding principles for the Duchy's environmental management over the next two decades.

Central to the plan is restoring and enhancing the natural landscape's resilience whilst promoting sustainable farming and land use practices.

Key initiatives include implementing ecologically led grazing systems and prioritising native, species-rich grasslands.

The strategy takes a holistic approach to conservation, addressing both environmental and community needs.

Local engagement forms a crucial component, with plans to develop a rural skills pool and provide affordable housing for landscape managers and retiring workers.
