Prince Louis heartbreak as young royal misses Wimbledon final

Prince George and Princess Charlotte accompanied their parents to Wimbledon last summer to watch the men's singles final between Carlos Alcaraz and Novak Djokovic.

On Saturday, Kensington Palace confirmed Princess Kate would be attending the 2024 men's singles final.

Prince Louis, 6, has never been to Wimbledon and his absence will continue for at least another year.

Last year, Kate admitted at the men's singles final that Louis was left "very upset" at missing the event.

Today's contest is a rematch between Alcaraz and Djokovic as they made back-to-back Wimbledon finals.

The Princess of Wales is making just her second public appearance of 2024 and will present the trophies to the winner and runner-up of the match.

The royal last stepped out on June 15 at Trooping the Colour, her first public engagement since being diagnosed with cancer earlier this year.

Prince George is absent from Wimbledon this year as he is expected to be in Berlin with his father to watch the Euro 2024 final.

Prince William is the President of the Football Association and has already attended two England matches at the tournament this summer.

The Prince of Wales brought George with him to watch the FA Cup final between Manchester City and Manchester United at Wembley in May.

Prince George is known to be a football fan and will have preferred to watch Gareth Southgate's team bid to become the first England team to win the Euros.

If England win the tournament the squad will meet with King Charles and Prince William at Buckingham Palace on Tuesday for a special celebration.
