Prince Harry appeared to snub America by admitting that becoming a US citizen was not a high priority for him.

A bitter legal battle is ongoing regarding the Duke of Sussex's US immigration files.


The Heritage Foundation is taking legal action against the US Government in a bid to force officials to release Harry's documents.

The organisation wants to see if the royal admitted to using illegal drugs before gaining a US visa.

In his memoir, the Duke of Sussex said he had taken cocaine, magic mushrooms and cannabis.

When asked about whether he wanted to become a US citizen Harry told Good Morning America: "I have considered it yes."

He continued: "American citizenship is a thought that has crossed my mind but it is certainly not something that is high priority for me."

During his interview with GMA, the royal, who has lived in the US since 2020, confirmed that he will return to the UK soon as he intends to see his family "as much as he can".

The Duke of Sussex travelled to the UK last week following the news that King Charles had been diagnosed with cancer.

Harry spent 45 minutes with his father before flying back to the US the next day.

The royal has now confirmed he has many trips planned to go back and see his family.

He said: "I have got many trips planned that will take me through the UK or back to the UK so I will my family as much as I can."
