Prince Harry "cannot do without his brother", but Prince William's focus has "very much been on his wife, his children and his father", a source has claimed.
A close friend of William said his brother rarely comes up in conversation and he would not want Harry at his Coronation.
The claims come ahead of Prince Harry's 40th birthday next month as friends of the Duke say "all he does is spend time looking back".
Despite the milestone birthday approaching, it appears the brothers haven't spoken in two years and are "estranged".
"I always said the brothers would be there for each other at the end of the day, and that’s been proven wrong so far," a friend of the brothers told the Sunday Times.
Another friend added: "Harry simply cannot do without his brother".
However, William seems to be committed to continuing his life without his sibling.
"This year his focus has very much been on his wife, his children and his father," one friend said.
LATEST DEVELOPMENTS:
The friend explained that Harry is out of the picture in William's life.
"His brother isn’t really something that’s discussed," they said.
According to friends, William is "unlikely to forgive Harry any time soon" for his attacks against Kate in his book, Spare.
Some suggest that the Prince of Wales wants his own Coronation to "look and feel different" - with the absence of Harry.
Friends of William say that under the current circumstances, he would not want his brother at his Coronation when the time comes.
Another of the brothers’ closest friends said: "They are estranged, which is dreadfully sad."
It comes as Harry is believed to be "isolated from his family and most of his old mates" in the US.
"He has ended up isolated from his family and most of his old mates, in an environment where your friendships are not like the ones you forged as a young man," another comrade said.
"He used to love a night out in the pub and hanging out in the country with friends. Maybe he has grown into a different person, but do I think he’d really suit the Californian lifestyle? No.
"Now we’ve seen it all play out, what has that left him with? On the surface, an enviable lifestyle — but for the Harry I know, I can’t imagine that gilded exile in California is where he wanted to end up."
