Prince Harry and Meghan Markle are expected to return to the UK in May

Prince Harry is "aware" of the lack of support for Meghan Markle in the UK, GBN America host Nana Akua has claimed.

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex are expected to travel to London together for the Invictus Games anniversary event on May 8, despite the Duchess previously suggesting she would "never set foot in the UK again".

This follows new royal polling in the UK, which has revealed that Meghan Markle's popularity in the UK ranks at just 26 per cent amongst the Royal Family, compared to Princess Kate ranking at 76 per cent.

Discussing the lack of support for the royals in the UK, Nana said Prince Harry is "clearly aware" of how unpopular his family, and in particular Meghan is.

Nana noted that the dwindling popularity towards the couple is because of "Meghan and Harry's behaviour" and treatment of the Royal Family, claiming it is "not because of her race".

Nana fumed: "It has nothing to do with that."

Nana also criticised Meghan Markle's latest project, as the Duchess unveiled a new lifestyle brand, American Riviera Orchard.

The GBNA host mocked the name of the new company and said she calls it "ARO, another ridiculous offering".

Nana said: "Meghan's new website, it's gone down like a cup of sick."

Nana raged: "Nobody's interested! I think even Meghan is questioning whether perhaps the timing of the launch was ill judged.

"Don't get me wrong, she's good at being an influencer. The Tig was a great success, but the rumours swirling at the moment is that she is concerned that the timing might make her look bad."

She told Meghan: "Hello? Hello! Earth calling Meghan! It looks really, really, really bad.

"The word for it is heartless. It looks heartless and cold. It's stuff like that people find unpalatable."

Noting the timing of the launch, which was just hours after Prince Harry spoke virtually at the annual Diana Legacy Awards in London, Nana said the Duchess "could have waited a bit" to announce the project.

Nana explained: "The website launched a few weeks before Catherine confirmed her diagnosis was cancer. Meghan could have waited a bit as we had already received the news of the King's diagnosis.

"But hey, ho! That's how they roll. Meghan must be spitting feathers that Catherine is idolised even more. The Princess of Wales is possibly the most loved woman on the planet."

Nana concluded: "Sorry Meghan, I can't imagine that there are many left who have a shred of respect for the Duke and Duchess of Montecito."
