Prince Harry will not be present with other members of the Royal Family at the funeral of the Duchess of Kent on Tuesday.
The Duke of Sussex appears to have returned to his home in Montecito, California, taking him 5,400 miles from the service in London.
The 92-year-old Duchess of Kent, who died on September 4 at her Kensington Palace residence, was the spouse of the late Queen Elizabeth II's cousin, the Duke of Kent.
Last week, Harry returned to the UK for a four-day trip which prompted some speculation he would stay on to attend the funeral.

King Charles and Queen Camilla will lead proceedings on Tuesday, with other members of the Royal Family joining the family of the Duke of Kent in mourning.
However, it seems the Prince Harry has made the decision to not join the gathered.
A recent social media post from the duke’s wife, Meghan Markle, suggests he has now returned to the US to be with her and their two children, Archie and Lilibet.
The post was shared by the Instagram account of the Duchess of Sussex’s lifestyle brand, As Ever.

It consisted of an image of a woman lounging in a heather garden pouring two glasses of Meghan’s own rosé wine.
Accompanying the image was the caption: “When your beau is back in town...”
While it is unclear if the woman in the picture was Meghan herself, it certainly channelled her excitement about the apparent return of Harry to the US.
Tuesday's service will be the first Catholic funeral for a Royal Family member in modern British history, honouring the the Duchess of Kent’s conversion from the Anglican Church.

In 1994, she became the first member of the Royal Family to embrace the faith since the 1700s following a consultation with Queen Elizabeth.
On Monday afternoon, the Royal Hearse will carry the duchess's coffin from Kensington Palace to Westminster Cathedral.
The Duke of Kent, aged 89, will attend private vigil alongside their “immediate family” where they will observe a Vigil for the Deceased with Rite of Reception and Vespers for the Dead.
This could include the Duke and Duchess’s three children and their ten grandchildren.

The Kent’s eldest son, George Windsor, Earl of St Andrews, 63, has three children: Edward Windsor, Lord Downpatrick, Lady Marina Windsor and Lady Amelia Windsor.
Lady Helen Taylor, 61, will attend with her four children - Columbus, Cassius, Eloise and Estella - whom she shares with her husband Timothy Taylor.
Their youngest son, Lord Nicholas Windsor, 55, has three sons: Albert, Leopold and Louis.
