The Duke and Duchess of Sussex have not yet confirmed whether they will attend the Coronation in May 2023

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle have given the Royal Family an ultimatun to gurantee they will not be met with a toxic atmosphere if they attend King Charles's Coronation.

According to a source, Prince Harry felt he was not welcomed during the Queen's Platinum Jubilee and the Queen's funeral.

The Duke of Sussex wants to reconcile with his family ahead of the historic ceremony in May.

The source said: “Harry has been very clear and his position hasn’t wavered.

"He isn’t going to come if he feels the atmosphere will be as toxic as it was during the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee and funeral."

The source told Mirror: “He’s said he wants to reconcile with his family and it’s their call, but so far nothing has changed.”

It comes as Meghan Markle has the "perfect excuse" not to attend King Charles's Coronation, according to a royal commentator.

Prince Harry and Meghan's son Archie's fourth birthday is on May 6 the first day of King Charles's Coronation.

Charles Rae stated that the Duchess of Sussex could choose to stay in California for her son's birthday rather than fly to the UK for the ceremony.

Rae told GB News: "There is also suggestions that only Harry will come.

"Let's not forget that Meghan has a perfect excuse not to turn up.

"On the same day, it is the fourth birthday of little Archie.

"So, it may well be that she'll stay behind and enjoy the celebrations with her son."

He added: "There is an argument that says Harry and Meghan should be there.

"Then, there also an argument that says they shouldn't be there because of what's happened in the past, the continual sniping at other members of the family."

The royal commentator stated that he felt Prince Harry "should be there" at his father's Coronation.
