The spinoff will focus on a new main character

Filming for the new Suits spin-off has begun, leaving fans wondering if Meghan Markle could reprise her role as the iconic Rachel Zane.

The Duchess of Sussex appeared in the hit series from 2011 to 2017 but quit to embrace her new royal life.

However, now that Meghan has stepped back as a working royal, fans think that she could feature in Suits: LA.

The spin-off will focus on a new main character, with the logline stating it will centre around a character called Ted Black.

Diving back into showbiz could be difficult for Meghan as she is currently working on her lifestyle brand and Netflix series.

In March, Meghan announced her new lifestyle brand, American Riviera Orchard, and details about the company are still scarce.

Harry would be supportive if Meghan returned

However, it has been revealed that it will focus on home, garden, and general lifestyle content.

In May, Meghan sent 50 jars of strawberry jam – each of which featured a handwritten number between one and 50 – to influencers and famous friends, including Chrissy Teigen and Suits co-star Abigail Spencer.

A source told OK! Prince Harry would be supportive if Meghan chose to return to her onscreen role and "would love" her to get back into acting.

“It’s known within Harry and Meghan’s circle that he’d love for her to get back into acting,” a source said.

Meghan Markle did not appear in the Suit finale

Meghan moved away from the show after she and Harry, 39, got engaged in 2017.

Since then she has not appeared on any scripted shows just the couple's tell-all documentary, Harry & Meghan, which aired on Netflix and varying interviews about royal life.

Creator of Suits, Aaron Korsh, did not ask Meghan back for the Suits finale in order to “respect her new life."
