Meghan Markle is “still less popular than Princess Kate” according to a new poll, in another blow to the royal couple.
A new poll conducted by Redfield and Wilton found that the Duke and Duchess of Sussex were less popular than other members of the Royal Family.
Since she and Prince Harry upped sticks and started a new life in California in 2020, their relationship with the American public has been mixed.
Last month, an opinion poll showed that Meghan’s approval rating had risen from 31 per cent to 36 per cent. However, the new data collected from 1,500 Americans by the polling company shows she has fallen out of favour with the American public once more.
Following the publication of Harry’s memoir Spare last year, coupled with their scathing Netflix documentary and an interview with Oprah, public opinion of the royal couple appears to have waned.
Her standing in the UK appears to be even worse. A poll published in May revealed that the majority of Britons disliked the Duchess, with only 25 per cent of those surveyed being a fan of her.
The poll came on the anniversary of King Charles’ Coronation, and whilst most members of the Royal Family’s approval ratings have risen, Meghan’s popularity, or lack thereof, remains unchanged.
Her husband, Prince Harry, also languished near the bottom of the table, with 31 per cent of those surveyed liking the Duke of Sussex.
ROYAL LATEST:
The Duchess was last seen in the UK in late 2022, when the Royal Family attended the funeral of the late Queen Elizabeth II.
Despite Meghan's absence from the UK, Prince Harry has been seen in his homeland on several occasions, as he continues his legal battle against the Home Office. He also paid a visit to his father King Charles earlier this year, following his cancer diagnosis.
Prince Harry's original memoir had an explosive reaction following its release.
The father-of-two detailed a physical altercation between him and his brother over Meghan, who the Prince of Wales described as "abrasive", according to Harry.

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle stepped back as working royals four years ago and settled in California.
Their two children, Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet, are growing up in Montecito near celebrities like Winfrey and Katy Perry.
