The Duke and Duchess of Sussex's multi-million pound deal with Spotify was cancelled this year

Meghan Markle and Prince Harry have been named on a list of the biggest Hollywood losers in 2023.

Hollywood Reporter has chosen the couple as one of its biggest losers of the year.

The outlet highlighted the release of Prince Harry's autobiography Spare and South Park's savage attacks on the Duke and Duchess of Sussex as major lows for the couple's public perception.

Hollywood Reporter also referenced Spotify's decision to cut ties with the couple in June after their 12-episode podcast left executives underwhelmed.

The outlet wrote regarding Meghan and Harry: "In 2020, the royal duo fled a life of ceremonial public service to cash in their celebrity status in the States.

"But after a whiny Netflix documentary, a whiny biography (Spare — even the title is a pouty gripe) and an inert podcast, the Harry and Meghan brand swelled into a sanctimonious bubble just begging to be popped — and South Park was the pin.

"The show’s 20-minute 'World-Wide Privacy Tour' takedown in March was savage, and was followed by Spotify dropping Archetypes, with a top executive labelling the duo 'grifters'."

Hollywood Reporter also took a swipe at the Royal Family and the life that the Duke and Duchess of Sussex left behind nearly four years ago.

The outlet added: "Still, all the scorn and mockery beats otherwise having to attend 200-plus official royal family engagements a year, which sounds hellish."

In what could be seen as a further blow to Meghan Markle and Prince Harry, Britain was named as a winner of 2023 by the Hollywood Reporter while Los Angeles was chosen as a loser.

The outlet wrote regarding Britain: "UK-based productions largely kept on working during the strike, plus studios continue to expand their footprint."

Last week, Meghan Markle and Prince Harry were savagely included in a display of "holiday hypocrites" by a famous store in Los Angeles.

Kitson Los Angeles has used its window display to call out the rich and famous for the last four years.

This year the store has taken a swipe at the Duke and Duchess of Sussex over their frequent use of private jets.

A photo of Meghan and Harry with Christmas hats photoshopped onto their head has been included in the display.
