Meghan Markle and Prince Harry snubbed a private celebrity back door at San Vincente to make a "statement" as another feud with the Royal Family was exposed, a source has claimed.

The Sussexes arrived at the front entrance of the San Vicente Bungalows just hours after it was revealed that King Charles had asked the couple to leave their UK base Frogmore Cottage.

The timing was a "bold move" said a fellow club member at San Vincente who was in attendance.

The source told Page Six: "I think it was definitely a statement coming on the evening of the Frogmore news."

They continued: "I know that San Vincente has a back door for celebrities, so no one needs to see you coming and going. They’re really all about privacy.

“They have way bigger stars than Harry and Meghan coming in and no one will ever know they’re there.

"But Harry and Meghan said, ‘We’re fine’ and that they didn’t need to use it. And even when they left, they used the main entrance.”

Meghan Markle and Prince Harry rushed into crunch talks with King Charles after he told them to vacate Frogmore Cottage within weeks following the publication of Spare.

However, after negotiations, it was agreed they would have until after the Coronation to move out.

Meghan and Prince Harry were first told they would need to leave the property just one day after the Duke of Sussex's autobiography was released.

Harry's memoir Spare contained multiple attacks on senior members of the Royal Family including King Charles's wife Camilla.

It is thought that the Duke of Sussex blasting his stepmother publicly violated a red line for the King.

A spokesperson for the Sussexes confirmed the couple had been asked to leave their UK base, saying: "We can confirm The Duke and Duchess of Sussex have been requested to vacate their residence at Frogmore Cottage."

However, the Sussexes have hardly used the royal residence since moving to California via a brief spell in Canada.
