The Duke and Duchess of Sussex became engaged in 2017

Meghan Markle could be altering Princess Diana's jewels in her "missing" engagement ring, a jewellery expert exclusively told GB News.

The Duchess of Sussex has not been seen wearing her engagement ring since May of this year, with many fans assuming the jewellery piece is "missing".

Danielle Rogers-Clark, a professional stylist and founder of Give Good Dress, spoke exclusively to GB News about the "missing" ring.

The stylist believes that the duchess could be having the ring redesigned or fixed to create a different look.

She said: "The Duchess of Sussex has always had a very strong sense of style.

"The rest of her jewellery is always quite simple and classic with a chic twist.

"This could reflect a change or desire for a more paired-back look.

"For instance, by refiguring Princess Diana’s diamonds into a simpler design, or turning the large cushion cut diamond into another piece of jewellery.

"I know that it is important to the couple that they have Diana with them on their journey.

"Meghan previously said, as she had never met Harry’s mother: 'It’s so important to me to know that she’s a part of this with us'.

"So, I feel those signature memory-filled diamonds will return soon enough."

Meghan's engagement ring features two diamonds from Princess Diana's jewellery collection.

In their 2017 engagement interview, Prince Harry said: "The ring is obviously yellow gold because that's [Meghan's] favourite and the main stone itself I sourced from Botswana and the little diamonds either side are from my mother's jewellery collection, to make sure that she's with us on this crazy journey together."

The duchess was visibly moved by her then-fiancé's gesture.

"It's incredible," she said.

"Everything about Harry’s thoughtfulness and the inclusion of [Princess Diana’s stones] and obviously not being able to meet his mum, it’s so important to me to know that she’s a part of this with us."
