Prince Harry will ensure that his wife is 'celebrated' on the special day but the King and Queen may also chip in
King Charles and Queen Camilla will extend an olive branch to Meghan Markle ahead of a major life event, a former royal butler has claimed.
The Duchess of Sussex will celebrate her 43rd birthday on Sunday and Harry will “make sure she is celebrated” on her special day.
However, it is not just her husband who is set to mark the occasion - Charles and Camilla could extend birthday wishes to their estranged daughter-in-law who they have not seen since June 2022.
Grant Harrold, who worked as a butler for the King between 2004 and 2011, has claimed that the royal couple will likely reach out to Meghan on her big day - though it will not be done publicly.
He said: “Harry will make sure that Meghan is celebrated.
“I think they will get messages from the King and the Queen, whether that be electronically or by old-fashioned mail, I still think the King and Queen will still send birthday messages.
“I don’t think that will change certainly despite everything that’s happened,” he said as reported in The Daily Express.
He also speculated that the birthday wishes may come with a gift, though this might not be the case “given everything that has happened”.

GettyThe relationship between Harry and his family has been strained ever since he moved to the US with his wife Meghan Markle in January 2020.
Since his move to Montecito, things have turned frosty between Harry and the firm, thanks in part to a series of bombshell claims that Harry made in his memoir Spare, which was released in January 2023.
Harry wrote that his brother was critical of his wife, whom he relocated to the United States in 2020, and that William allegedly called her “difficult”, “rude” and “abrasive”.
The Duke of Sussex also discussed various points of contention between his wife and Kate. One specific disagreement revolved around Princess Charlotte’s bridesmaid dress, which left Meghan reportedly “sobbing on the floor”.
The King made the decision to evict Harry from Frogmore Cottage after his memoir was released.
Aside from Harry’s scathing memoir, the couple’s Netflix series released in 2022, and their landmark interview with Oprah in 2021, had previously added fuel to the fire.
William and Harry have barely spoken over the last 18 months and last saw each other at the Coronation in May 2023.
Meanwhile, Harry and his father last saw each other in February when Charles was diagnosed with cancer and the duke jetted over from California to see him, but he was given just over 30 minutes with the King.
