Prince Harry made several shocking statements about the Royal Family, including comments about not knowing "how long his father had left to live"

Former royal butler Grant Harrold has claimed King Charles will feel "betrayed" by Prince Harry's recent BBC interview in which the Duke discussed his father's health.

In the bombshell interview, aired yesterday, Prince Harry made several shocking statements about the Royal Family, including comments about not knowing "how long his father had left to live".

The interview came after Harry lost his legal challenge over his UK security arrangements, with the Duke telling the BBC he was "devastated" by the court's decision.

Speaking to GB News, former royal butler Grant Harrold said: "I lost my mother to cancer, and she fought it privately. She didn’t want it to be public. I don’t know if I didn’t want it to be public either.

"I think the King will definitely feel betrayed, that's what I think. He’ll feel betrayed because this is confidential information that Harry has discussed with the media.

"And surely, Harry must have been aware that using those words would make everyone think 'how serious is it'?

"'What does that mean?’ Of course, it opens up a whole lot of speculation.

"I’m sure we’re all now wondering what’s really going on. But of course, the Palace is never going to release that information, it’s private. It’s like with the Queen."

He added: "The problem is, I’m sure his father is thinking, if I do say something, or if we do give out more information, is that going to end up in the next book? Is that going to be the next TV programme?"

"This is the reality of it, and I just don’t know why. Hand on heart, I knew Harry really well. I knew the family well. I knew how close they were.

"I just don’t understand what’s going on. I’m as confused as you are. I don’t really know what Harry is trying to achieve.

"And you know, his grandmother passed away during all this. The worst thing I can imagine is God forbid if the King were to pass away... can you imagine?

"This whole upset is still going on, and potentially, if he’s already lost his grandmother and could lose his father... What then?

"I just don’t understand what Harry thinks he’s going to achieve. That’s what I really don’t understand. It’s just a very, very strange situation."

Harry told the BBC he "can't see a world" in which he would bring his wife and children back to the UK. Despite this, the Duke insisted he would "love a reconciliation" with the Royal Family.

The Duke of Sussex's comments come at a particularly sensitive time, with concerns about King Charles's health following his cancer diagnosis earlier this year.

Harry admitted in the interview that he doesn't know "how long his father has left".

A Buckingham Palace spokesman said: "All of these issues have been examined repeatedly and meticulously by the courts, with the same conclusion reached on each occasion."
