The two women appeared together at a literary prize ceremony in December 2024.

The royal couple and the Macrons have met on several occasions in recent years.

In September 2023, the King and Queen Camilla undertook a State Visit to France, one of their first since ascending the throne.

The royal couple also joined the Macrons at the British Normandy Memorial in Ver-sur-Mer last June to mark the 80th anniversary of D-Day.

Charles previously welcomed Mr Macron to London in June 2020 for commemorations of Charles de Gaulle's historic BBC broadcast.

President Macron's visit comes ahead of Donald Trump's upcoming second State Visit to the UK, which looks set to be scheduled for September 2025.

The last State Visit to the UK from France was in March 2008.

During that visit, President Sarkozy and Madame Nicolas Sarkozy were hosted by Queen Elizabeth II at Windsor Castle.
