Prince William and Queen Camilla will also attend the event at Buckingham Palace

Kate, Princess of Wales and King Charles are set to meet for the first time since they were named as the royals who allegedly had "concerns" about how dark Prince Archie's skin colour would be when he was born.

The King, Queen Camilla, Prince William and Kate will be at Buckingham Palace as more than 500 members of the Diplomatic Corps attended a pre-Christmas celebration.

It will be the first time King Charles and Kate have met since they were named in the Dutch version of Omid Scobie's royal book Endgame due to an "error".

Scobie has denied leaking the names and said no version of Endgame contained the names of the accused royals.

He told ITV: "I had never submitted a book that had their names in it, so I can only talk about my version."

However, a source told the Times that Scobie's agency did send a draft manuscript that named King Charles and Kate.

United Talent Agency sent a final version of Endgame weeks before publication that did not name either of the royals.

But before this, an earlier draft version of the book that did name King Charles and Kate was sent to Dutch publisher Xander Uitgevers, according to The Times.

The Dutch translator interpreted the draft version of Endgame rather than the final approved version of the book, the source has claimed.

Due to the long process of translating books, it is common for agents to send early versions to foreign publishers.

Media outlets across the globe then began to name the King and the Princess of Wales as the royals named in the Dutch version of the book after the draft version of Endgame was published in the Netherlands.

Sources close to Meghan Markle have insisted the Duchess of Sussex never intended to publicly identify the two royals and that no one in her camp leaked the information to Scobie.

The Duchess of Sussex claimed in an interview with Oprah Winfrey in 2021 that there were "concerns and conversations" within the Royal Family about how dark Prince Archie's skin might be when he was born.

Meghan said during the interview when outlining her decision not to name the members of the Royal Family: "I think that would be very damaging to them."
