Princess of Wales is currently continuing her cancer treatment

First and foremost, The Princess of Wales is a human being.

I am not going to speculate about when she will return to work, in fact, it would be wrong of me to do so, since The Princess continues cancer treatment.

When Her Royal Highness bravely told the world about her diagnosis back in March, she asked for time, space and privacy to recover away from the public eye.

Despite her plea, social media conspiracies are starting to boil over again, which only puts unnecessary pressure on The Princess.

It is understood The Princess will not take part in Saturday's parade, however Kensington Palace has so far declined to rule out a balcony appearance from the future Queen, which unfortunately has resulted in them playing 'Whack-A-Mole' with seemingly endless questions.

The Princess of Wales is Colonel of the Irish Guards, and Number 9 Company of the Regiment is Trooping the Colour during The King's birthday Parade this Saturday.

Last weekend, during the final dress rehearsal known as the Colonel's Review, The Princess did not travel to Horse Guards Parade to take the traditional Royal Salute.

Instead, she wrote her regiment a letter to show her support and wish them the best of luck.

She said: “I wanted to write and let you know how proud I am of the entire Regiment ahead of the Colonel’s Review and Trooping the Colour."

"I appreciate everyone trooping this year has been practicing for months, and dedicating many hours to ensuring their uniforms and drill are immaculate."

"Being your Colonel remains a great honour, and I am very sorry that I’m unable to take the salute at this year’s Colonel’s Review."

"Please pass my apologies to the whole Regiment, however I do hope that I am able to represent you all once again very soon."

"Please send my very best wishes and good luck to all involved. Quis separabit.”

In March, a royal source indicated The Princess may be keen to attend certain events, if she feels well enough to do so, and her doctors give the green light.

A note of caution, however, because any appearance on the Buckingham Palace balcony would not mean a return to regular public duties.

India McTaggart, Royal Correspondent at the Daily Telegraph, told GB News' "The Royal Record" podcast this week: "[A balcony appearance] would represent quite a low pressure way to show her support for the King."

"Appearing on the balcony with the rest of the Royal Family and her children for a few minutes is completely different, expectation and stamina wise, to taking the salute for the Irish Guards [during the Colonel's review]"

"You're inspecting all the soldiers, you're standing for quite an extended period of time, and you are also completely the focus of that engagement."

Trooping the Colour is a time to celebrate the official birthday of King Charles III, the Household Division's gift to their Colonel-in-Chief, and a time of national celebration.

The British Army wants The King to be the focus of the celebrations.

As for The Princess of Wales, her priority has always been her children and is focused on her recovery.

Her Royal Highness will be back when she is ready; patience is a virtue.
