Princess Kate is "in a very different position" to King Charles as she continues to recover from her cancer treatment, a royal source has claimed.

The Princess of Wales announced in March that she had undergone preventative chemotherapy after cancer was found in tests following a significant abdominal surgery earlier this year.

Princess Kate revealed her diagnosis in a video message released on March 22nd.

The royal confirmed that she would not be undertaking public duties for the foreseeable future to focus on her health.

An insider close to the royals claimed that the Princess of Wales will delay making decisions such as staff appointments while she recovers.

The source told the Mail: "No one wants to put any pressure on Catherine.

"The only thing that matters at the moment is her getting better. She has been through an ordeal this year.

They added: "As Sovereign, His Majesty is in a very different position from the Princess of Wales.

"There is no need for her to be seen while she’s recovering."
