The Duke of Sussex and Prince of Wales are not on speaking terms

Prince Harry will not see Prince William during his upcoming trip to the UK, whilst a meeting with King Charles hangs in the balance.

The Duke of Sussex will travel to London on Monday to attend the WellChild Awards on the third anniversary of Queen Elizabeth II’s death.

Prince Harry regularly attends the annual event and his appearance on September 8th will be his 15th time at the award ceremony.

The Duke of Sussex has also confirmed a second public appearance in the UK for September 9th.

On Tuesday, Prince Harry will travel to Nottingham to visit the Community Recording Studio (CRS).

He will be announcing a substantial donation to Children in Need to help support their work tackling violence impacting young people.

There has been no confirmation as to whether Prince Harry will meet with family members during his time in the UK.

It is extremely unlikely that Prince William will meet with the Duke of Sussex in the coming days as the brother are not on speaking terms.

A source told the Sunday Times regarding the prospect: “At the end of the day, as he’s (Harry) no longer a member of the institution, he doesn’t feel bound to de-conflict his diary with the institution.”

There is also no meeting with King Charles in Prince Harry’s schedule, however, sources say this could still change.

A friend of Harry’s said: “He’s made it absolutely clear he wants a reconciliation with his family. It’s on them now.”

The Duke of Sussex has made multiple solo appearances in England over the last two years but has previously said he does not feel safe bringing his family to the UK.

However, a source has claimed that Prince Harry is now open to bringing his wife and children with him on his trips to the country of his birth.

The source told The Sunday Times: “He’s not given up hope on bringing his family back to the UK. He wants to be able to show his children where he grew up.

“He wants them to know their family here. He really would like to come back to the UK much more.”

Prince Harry’s trip to the UK on Monday will be the first time the Duke of Sussex has returned since suffering a crushing court defeat in May 2025.

It will end the royal’s hiatus from the UK, which has gone on for four months since he lost his legal battle for taxpayer-funded armed police protection.

The ruling meant that armed police bodyguards, paid for by the British taxpayer, will not be automatically reinstated for Harry, Meghan and their two children when in the UK.
