The Duchess of Sussex is set to produce fresh TV projects as part of her first-look deal with Netflix

Meghan Markle is eyeing a TV career in a bid to find a work-life balance in California.

The mother of two wants to juggle her next project alongside parenting Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet, according to an insider.

Therefore, Meghan is keen to have her next TV show located in California, where the Duke and Duchess of Sussex’s family home is based.

The insider claimed that Meghan is exploring the possibility of producing a travel and food show in California, which would enable her to spend time at home with her children.

The source said Meghan “would like to do a travel and food show, perhaps set in their new home state of California, which would allow her to juggle a TV career with parenting Archie and Lilibet.”

The Duchess of Sussex's desire to work close to where her children are raised comes as she revealed that weeks of separation from Archie and Lilibet made her “not well”.

The Duchess of Sussex shared the personal details during episode three of the second season of With Love, Meghan.

The three-week period of separation occurred in 2022, when Meghan and Harry were in the UK for Queen Elizabeth II's funeral.

Earlier this month, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex confirmed alongside Netflix that the partnership will continue with several new projects on the way.

The extension of the creative partnership through Archewell Productions will be in the form of a multi-year, "first look deal for film and television projects".

Meghan, Duchess of Sussex, said: "We're proud to extend our partnership with Netflix and expand our work together to include the As Ever brand.

"My husband and I feel inspired by our partners who work closely with us and our Archewell Productions team to create thoughtful content across genres that resonates globally, and celebrates our shared vision."

"The response to their work speaks for itself — Harry & Meghan gave viewers an intimate look into their lives and quickly became one of our most-watched documentary series.

"More recently, fans have been inspired by With Love, Meghan, with products from the new As Ever line consistently selling out in record time. We’re excited to continue our partnership with Archewell Productions and to entertain our members together."

One of the new projects revealed in the press release is 'Masaka Kids, A Rhythm Within', which Prince Harry and Meghan have helped produce for Netflix.

Another is the adaptation of the best-selling novel by Carley Fortune, Meet Me At The Lake.
