A Democrat supporter has admitted that a second term would have been "too taxing" for Joe Biden, following the President's shock withdrawal from the race.
The 81-year-old commander-in-chief announced on Sunday that he would no longer be running for a second term, passing the campaign on to Harris.
Addressing the world for the first time since since stepping down, Joe Biden claimed the decision was "not about him", and praised the "honour of his life" to serve as President.
The leader of the free world also confirmed that despite calls from critics to step down all together before his tenure, he will continue to govern until November.

Discussing the decision on GBN America, CEO of Global Situation Room Johanna Maska claimed that although it is clear that Biden "is declining", she argued he is "more than capable" of remaining president until a new leader is elected.
Maska explained: "I saw him at Nato, and he did actually command the room in a better way than I thought he was going to.
"He is still in command of the facts, but he will not have that capability forever. We are all perishable fruit."
Noting Biden's recent gaffes at the Nato summit, which sparked fresh calls for Biden to step down, Maska admitted that four more years as president would be "too taxing" for the 81-year-old.

Maska added: "The trouble was, he misspoke so many times with unintentional gaffes. It was clear he knew who he was speaking about when he was talking about Zelensky, he just happened to say Putin.
LATEST DEVELOPMENTS:
"Right now he is absolutely capable of the job of commander in chief, but four more years would be too taxing, and I am grateful that he's passing the torch."
GBN America reporter Steven Edginton then pressed Maska on comments made by Barstool Sports founder Dave Portnoy, who claimed that the Democrats had "stolen and subverted democracy" by replacing Biden with Kamala Harris.
When questioned on whether Harris would have been successful if the party had gone through the primaries, Maska responded: "It's just rich that we're hearing this from Republicans. I know that Joe Biden wanted to run for President.
"He 100 per cent planned to be the candidate for the Democratic Party. Obviously, he is declining, the job is difficult.

"It is difficult on him and I am grateful that Kamala Harris has stepped in to run for office."
Heaping praise on the presidential hopeful, Maska added: "She is the next generation leader, who will have the promise of an inclusive America that will counter the Republican spin."
In disagreement with Maska, US Reporter Neil McCabe claimed that the decision was one "not made by the President" as he "didn't want to go".
McCabe argued: "It's a coup, because President Biden didn't want to go. A coup is when the decision is made for you.
"Biden wanted to fight, his family and his handlers wanted to fight, but that decision was made for him, and we saw it in real time."
