Donald Trump discussed Vladimir Putin's war in Ukraine during a world exclusive interview with GB News

Joe Biden is responsible for Vladimir Putin’s invasion of Ukraine, ex-President Donald Trump has suggested.

Donald Trump also claimed he would end Russia’s onslaught against the ex-Soviet state in 24 hours if he was still in the White House.

The 76-year-old took aim at his successor in the White House during a world exclusive interview with GB News’ Nigel Farage.

Trump, who is hoping to return to the Oval Office after launching his third successive bid for the top job, also claimed he knows the Russian President “well”.

He told Farage: "Everyone knows you know, everyone knows, even Democrats, they say well we agree that Putin would have never gone in [if I was President]. He wouldn't, I told him you're not going in. Putin would have never gotten into Ukraine."

Trump also said: “So, if I were President, and I say this, I will end that war and one day, it'll take 24 hours.

“I know Zelensky well. I know Putin well. I will get that ended in a period of...100%

“It would be easy. That deal would be easy. A lot of it has to do with the money.

“A lot of it has to do with the military, you know that we're giving but I would get that deal done within 24 hours.

“That war has to be stopped. That was a disaster. And I'm talking more than money.

“I'm talking about human life, it's far greater than anyone thinks.”

Speaking from his Scottish golf club in Turnberry, the property-tycoon-turned-politician added: “You don't knock down a whole city and say two people got hurt. Okay.

“Thousands of people are being killed in the cities that are being knocked down, there in those big apartment houses and they are big buildings.

“I'm a very good real estate guy. I know how big these are massive buildings I'm actually surprised to see.

“And when you see those buildings just collapsing.

“Thousands of people have been killed that nobody's talking about. That war has to stop.”

Trump has long claimed he could end Russia’s invasion of Ukraine if he spectacularly returned to the White House.

However, his interview with the ex-Brexit Party leader on GB News revealed that there is no love lost between the 45th President and his 2020 rival.

Trump and Biden could face off yet again in 2024 as both men have launched bids to run as their respective parties' candidates.

Biden leads main Democratic Party challenger Robert F Kennedy Jr by 43 per cent, a recent opinion poll for Fox News has revealed.

Trump has extended his lead against Republican rival Ron DeSantis, with YouGov giving the ex-Commander-in-Chief a 36-point lead over the two-time Florida Governor.

A narrow lead for Trump could be enough for the Republican firebrand to flip back the states of Arizona, Georgia, Pennsylvania, Michigan and Wisconsin.

Despite trailing Hillary Clinton by two million ballots in the popular vote, the five key swing states helped Trump navigate his way to the White House in 2016.
