Defence Secretary Grant Shapps has claimed that "we will stand by Ukraine as long as it takes" after Britain reaffirmed its support for the country on the two year anniversary of Russia's invasion.
Prime Minister Rishi Sunak said Britain was prepared to do "whatever it takes" and pledged almost £250m towards producing artillery shells.
Speaking to GB News Defence Secretary Shapps said: "Two years ago today, I went to a Cobra meeting and then I phoned up my opposite number, a minister called Kubrakov, and he was standing in a field, actually was a zoom like this.
"And he was standing in a field outside Kiev, fully expecting perhaps in the next couple of days, the Russian army to enter the capital.

"And here we are entering the third year, and that hasn't happened. You ask how long? The answer has to be as long as it takes.
"Can you imagine what would happen if we allow the civilized world, allow Putin to walk into his democratic neighbor that Ukraine? Take that over.
"Who here thinks that he would stop there, that he wouldn't carry on invading other countries? We've seen all this in Europe before, and we've also seen in the last week just how callous and ruthless Putin is.
"He murders his opponents in cold blood. The guy cannot be allowed to do this to the world. And that's why we're going to have to stand by Ukraine for as long as it takes.
"It's actually in our interest to do this as well as being the right thing to do." Shapps also discussed the former Prime Minister Liz Truss's comments during her speech at CPAC.
During her speech she said "we enabled Putin by not taking action early enough" she also described "Russia, Iran and China as our enemies."
Shapps said: "Putin is certainly our enemy. I don't think there's any doubt about that. North Korea don't abide by any of the international agreed world order rules.
"Iran certainly hopes to control or likes to try and often fails and funds and trains and equips a whole bunch of Iranian proxy groups like the Hootie's. And so that's all certainly true.

"China, is certainly much more assertive. You know, 10 years ago there looked like there was a sort of golden mirror,
"They are much more assertive in their approach. I wouldn't describe them as enemies, but I would describe the world as being in a much less stable form.
"I made a speech about this in London at Lancaster House last month where I talked about unfortunately we've moved from that sort of post-war to a sort of more pre-war.
"Well that doesn't mean we're about to go to war, it just means we need to be much more assertive, in particular in making sure that we are ready to determine my adversaries."
