Some 70 per cent of people said they had an unfavourable view of the Prime Minister
Rishi Sunak has hit a record low in the polls, reaching his worst-ever net favourability low.
His approval rating has hit -49, the latest polling from YouGov shows, taking him lower than Boris Johnson just after he resigned.
Johnson was at -46 approval following his resignation.
Former PM Liz Truss was at -70 after her resignation.
The latest polling was carried out ahead of last night's vote on the Rwanda Bill. 70 per cent of people said they had an unfavourable view of the Prime Minister.
While just 21 per cent said they had a favourable view.
The net approval rating of -49 is a 10 point drop from November.
Sunak saw off a major rebellion brewing in the Tory party yesterday, as MPs threatened to vote down his new migration legislation.
The Rwanda Bill successfully passed its second reading last night with a majority of 44.
But 37 MPs abstained, many due to concerns over the legislation.
Ahead of the vote, Mark Francois, chair of the European Research Group, warned that the group would "collectively" not be supporting the Bill.
The 37 MPs who abstained also included eight who didn't rebel, but were unable to vote so were paired with opposition MPs.
Addressing reporters just fifteen miniutes before the vote, Francois said: "We have decided collectively that we cannot support the Bill tonight because of its many omissions.
LATEST DEVELOPMENTS:
"Therefore, while it is down to every individual colleague, ultimately, to decide what to do, collectively we will not be supporting it."
Francois also claimed Sunak is "prepared to entertain tightening the Bill".
The YouGov polling spoke to 2,001 British adults between December 11 and December 12.
