Sir Keir Starmer is set to recall ministers from their summer break to discuss Gaza after he meets with Donald Trump on Monday.
The Prime Minister is expected to hold an emergency Cabinet meeting this week as the pressure from his party - and outside - mounts to recognise a Palestinian state.
The crisis in the Middle East is also expected to feature heavily in Starmer's meeting with the US President at the latter's golf course in Scotland.
It is expected the two will discuss "what more can be done to secure the ceasefire urgently, bring an end to the unspeakable suffering and starvation in Gaza and free the hostages who have been held so cruelly for so long", according to a No10 spokesman.
Ahead of the talks, Trump appeared to agree, saying: "I think we're going to be discussing a lot about Israel."
The President also revealed that Starmer was "very much involved in terms of wanting something to happen".
On Sunday, Israel made key steps towards allowing the delivery of aid in response to pressure and international outrage triggered by photos of emaciated children last week.
The Israel Defense Force (IDF) created corridors through Gaza for UN lorries, and paused daytime fighting in order to allow residents to receive the aid.

Eli Cohen, an Israeli Minister, told local radio the concessions were made partly to stave off the growing threat of sanctions from European countries.
As well as calling an emergency meeting, Starmer is expected to welcome the Trump administration's work with Qatar and Egypt to produce a ceasefire in Gaza.
While Foreign Secretary David Lammy is expected to attend a UN conference this week in New York which will discuss a two-state solution and a pathway to formally recognising a Palestinian state.
On Thursday, Emmanuel Macron announced that France would formally recognise a Palestinian state at the UN general assembly in September.

Trump and Starmer are also expected to discuss the progress of the UK-US trade deal, as well as applying pressure on Vladimir Putin to end the war in Ukraine.
A Downing Street spokesman said the leaders are "set to talk about their shared desire to bring an end to the barbaric war" in Ukraine, and how to "force Putin to the negotiating table".
The Commander-in-Chief, who has been playing golf at Trump Turnberry in Ayrshire since Saturday morning, claimed Starmer was "doing a very good job", and confirmed they would be discussing the trade deal which was "good for them and good for us".
A Government spokesman said: "Businesses in aerospace and autos are already benefiting from the strong relationship the UK has with the US and the deal agreed on May 8.

"The Government is working at pace with the US to go further to deliver benefits to working people on both sides of the Atlantic and to give UK industry the security it needs, protect vital jobs, and put more money in people's pockets through the plan for change."
But just hours ahead of Monday's talks, Trump supporters were seen protesting the pair's meeting.
As Trump took to his golf course, his supporters could be heard shouting "we love you Trump", while another was seen holding a sign saying "President Trump, don't trust Starmer".
The crunch UK-US talks follow Trump and European Commission president Ursula von der Leyen's announcemenet of a US-EU trade deal on Sunday.
"It's great that we made a deal instead of playing games," Trump declared.
